The sculptor behind Seros

Sophie-Elizabeth Thompson is a British sculptor based in Barcelona. She works with granite, marble, bronze, ceramic, resin and plaster and her work is displayed all over the world, in galleries and public spaces.

Her sculptural forms have a natural flow, feeling both dynamic and restful. On commissioning Sophie, Victoria & Alberts design team found a brilliant collaborator who understood the emotional needs the a can can fulfil.

She says that her best work comes from “the feeling of absolute calm while I’m creating in my studio – whether I’m drawing or carving. I am not thinking about anything and feel completely at peace and happy”. This sense of tranquility has translated into the final Seros designs. More that that, it is how every bather in a Seros bath should feel.
